Shiitake Mushrooms - Sliced & Dried
Dried mushrooms are a great convenient store cupboard product - and really easy to use.
Sliced for even dehyrdation/rehydration. Mainly used in Asian inspried recipes but can be used as a substitute for button in many meals.
To rehydrate mushrooms just place mushrooms in a bowl and fill with hot water to cover the dried mushrooms, wait 20-30 minutes then drain and use mushrooms as per recipe.
10g dried = 100g fresh = 1 cup (approx)
Soaking liquid can be kept and used as a stock base OR as a replacement for wine or stock in a recipe to add more mushroom flavour.
